Today and tomorrow there will be one leadership in this world that will hope that a maximum amount of its own citizens will be hurt or killed. Today and tomorrow, during Israel’s Independence Day and when the United States of America will move its embassy to Jerusalem – the terrorist organization Hamas, that controls the Gaza strip, will force the residents to come to the border with Israel, and to violently dismantle the fence in order to hurt Israeli citizens. Hamas will threaten, use terror tactics, and even promise money to those that will be hurt or killed. For what reason, you might ask; because the more injured and killed means more international criticism towards Israel.

What kind of leadership, that is supposed to care for their citizen’s wellbeing, can act this way? What kind of cruel leadership can send their people to knowingly get hurt, while they cowardly hide behind women and children? This can only be the leaders of a terrorist organization.

There’s a famous fable about a scorpion who asks a frog to help him cross the river. The suspicious frog asks, “How will I know that you won’t sting me?”, “don’t be silly”, the scorpion replies, “if I’ll sting you, we’d both drown”. The frog, convinced, begins to take the scorpion across the river, but in the middle of the river, the frog feels the sting of the scorpion. As they drown the frog asks why the scorpion has doomed them both, but the scorpion can only respond: “it’s my nature”.

Hamas has been controlling Gaza since Israel withdrew in 2005. Since then, the organization has funneled all its abilities and resources for terror against Israel. The metals imported into Gaza didn’t build industries; instead they were used to make thousands of rockets. Israel developed the defense system “Iron Dome” to give us a technological solution against them. The cement given to Gaza wasn’t used to build houses for those in need; instead they build terror tunnels, several kilometers long, to reach and murder Israeli citizens. Israel has found a technological solution for this as well. This is why, today, in Hamas’ desperation, they are turning to sending their citizens to the border, in the hope they will get hurt.

In the 13 years Hamas’ has been ruling over Gaza they could have turned the area into a heaven, but instead they preferred to turn it into a hell. Why do they act this way? Well, “it’s their nature”.
